SPUD.ca is looking for permanent, full-time Lead Delivery Coordinator for our Vancouver, BC location (1660 E Hastings Street). This shift is Fri-Mon 8:00 am- 6:00 pm (4x 10hr shifts compressed work week). This position reports into the Vancouver Delivery Manager.

What you'll do

  • Ensure accurate updates of SPUD customer delivery info as it pertains to delivery drivers and delivery routing.
  • Support Delivery Manager and the Delivery Routing Coordinator.
  • Act as the lead for delivery delivery drives on weekends, ensuring they are prepared to execute their deliveries efficiently.
  • Execute and or delegate re-deliveries, on-demand deliveries, transfers and pickups.
  • Ensure the driving team is equipped with the resources to service our customers well.
  • Workwave routing. Proficiency in Workwave routing required.
  • Work with the rest of the SPUD teams to deliver new services to SPUD customers like express, time windows and additional delivery days.
  • Work with the customer care team to resolve issues and enhance service.
  • Assist with on-boarding of new drivers; including resolving issues with smart phones and vehicles
  • Take the lead on the Vehicle Care program; utilizing tools like GPS, driver behaviour monitoring and check-in-out to ensure safe driving practices and minimize vehicle damage.
  • Lead by example in going above and beyond for our customers.
  • Be the champion of safe driving habits, making sure our fleet experiences minimal damage due to poor training. 
  • Act as backup to the Routing Coordinator.
  • Ensure Pre-Pack/Pre-Loads are completed in an efficient manner.
  • Ensure efficient management of paper records, including filing of Driver Checklists and Route sheets.
  • Problem-solve and think creatively to complete assigned tasks.
  • Ensure transfers to Be Fresh, OA are completed as per scheduled times.
  • Ensure customer keys are prepared for delivery drivers post routing. 
  • Cover delivery routes when Drivers call in sick. 
  • Ensure effective timely communicaiton is realayed to key team members.
  • Adjust schedule for on-demand deliveries and pick-ups. 
  • Utilize SPUD CSR and possibly SPUD Front-End to perform adjustments and updates to customers’ accounts, delivery routes, delivery schedules and reports.
  • Daily monitoring of fleet, driver performance and customer experience. Utilizing X-Dispatcher and Positrace to track driver performance on deliveries and delegate any adjustments to daily deliveries to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Effectively communicate with Customer Care and other Depts. in mitigating potential negative customer experiecnes by taking a pro-active approach.
  • Follow the Delivery Manager's plans and assist on the execution of operational plans to improve the delivery team's performance
  • Work with Business Development to create best possible Office Customer experiences.

Our compensation package consists of

  • $17.00 per hour to start

What you'll need

  • A Driver’s License, and clean driving record for the past 5 years.
  • Available permanently for a Friday- Monday 8:00 am- 6:00 pm shift.
  • Previous experience driving larger vehicles (think Mercedes Sprinter!)
  • Ability to comfortably drive around Vancouver, in all types of weather, displaying excellent driving skills. 
  • Familiarity with surrounding areas is preferred.
  • A warm and engaging personality, displaying exceptional customer service!
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, our customers love their bins of groceries! 
  • A committment to being an essntial part of the team.
  • Flexibility- able to adjust to a changing environment and new challenges.
  • Ability to build rapport with other SPUD Depts including CS, IT, WH, Marketing, BD, and Purchasing, to exceed customer expectations as a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills displayed in emails and messages to all stakeholders.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem solving abilities.
  • Display a passion for creating amazing customer experiences worth sharing.
  • Display future planning and daily organization of working time and multitask as required.
  • Effectively delegate when required and display a positive example in building a cohesive team.
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
