    Food-X is looking for permanent, full-time Produce Quality Coordinator for our Burnaby, BC warehouse (5566 Trapp Avenue, Unit 105). This position is Monday- Friday 4:00 am- 12:30 pm. Must drive or live within walking/biking distance due to public transit not beign available at this time.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    The Produce Quality Coordinator oversees the daily operations of the Produce Quality Team. Leading a team of up to 20 reports, they are responsible for planning the activities of the team, coaching for performance, providing support and assistance, and developing future leaders. They lead on the front line, maintaining team morale and ensuring that the pack line is always fully stocked with high-quality produce.


    They are the primary team member responsible for ensuring that all produce in the facility is properly cared for, held to high quality standards and prepared for order fulfillment.

     

    • Direct Produce Quality Team members in their day-to-day duties
    • Motivate the team to meet quality targets & complete produce quality/prep workload, through daily engagement 
    • Maintain and train on Standard Operating Procedures for produce prep, handling and quality
    • Monitor all feedback channels for produce quality and act on customer concerns
    • Coach the team for performance & maintaining quality 
    • Support Supervisors in overseeing day-to-day operations
    • Engage and develop the team through coaching, support and regular feedback. 
    • Lead with positivity and empathy, while ensuring that team members respect their peers and the requirements of their positions
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Passion for produce!
    • Foodsafe Level 1
    • Proven ability to think creatively to complete assigned tasks
    • Proven ability to lead by example
    • Experience working with produce in a production or warehouse environment
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Attention to detail
    • Ability to work in a team environment
    • Desire to actively problem solve and improve processes on a daily basis
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs continuously
    • Ability to work on your feet all day, bending, leaning, crouching and walking
    • Ability to work for extended periods of time, and entire shifts in our walk-in refrigerated coolers or freezers

    Compensation

    • An annual salary based on experience
    • 20% discount on SPUD purchases
    • Extended Health Care Benefits (effective the first of the month after 90 days)
