    SPUD.CA is looking for a UX/UI Junior Designer (Intern) based out of our South Burnaby, BC office (5566 Trapp Avenue). This is a full-time paid internship starting in January 2019 set to be four months, with the possibility of extension.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    The UX/UI Intern will provide support and take direction from the UX Lead, will also work closely with the web eCommerce Product Team.

    • Design the UI architecture, interface and interaction flows for web application for a variety of screen sizes, and interaction models
    • Work closely with the web UX Lead, Product Team and IT
    • Identify and report actionable opportunities for improving the user interface
    • Maintain a deep empathy of the SPUD customer and their experience
    • Scope and prioritize site improvements based on customer impact
    • Quickly yet thoroughly create high fidelity designs based on wireframes/sketches and research provided by UX lead or research team
    • Develop and maintain detailed user interface specifications and ensure site elements remain consistent
    • Additional duties as required

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Degree or comparable training in UX/Product Design field
    • Training in Adobe XD, Adobe Suite, InVision or Sketch
    • Ecommerce experience is not required but preferred
    • Background in graphic design is preferred
    • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a matrix organization, flexibility to do what is required for the best outcome
    • Familiarity in Agile/Scrum development environment
    • Knowledge of web analytics
    • Some experience in software development, web technologies, user experience methods and design principals
    • Strong problem solving skills and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • A passion for delicious organic food, supporting local, and sustainable living

    Compensation

    • An hourly wage paid bi-weekly
    • 20% discount on spud.ca orders
